The Big C

The Big C is a Showtime original series created by Darlene Hunt and starring Laura Linney. Linney plays a reserved suburban wife and mother whose recent cancer diagnosis forces her to shake up her life and find hope, humor and the light side of a dark situation, while managing her immature but well-meaning husband, played by Oliver Platt. Recurring guest star Gabourey Sidibe will play a precocious student. The Wire and Luther star Idris Elba will appear in at least four episodes as a love interest for Linney. Brian Cox will appear in the show as Linney's father. Cynthia Nixon has a recurring role playing a friend of Laura Linney's character. Reid Scott will play Linney's character's oncologist, Dr. Todd.

Miss Universe 2010

Miss Universe 2010, the 59th edition of the pageant, was held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. on August 23, 2010. It was hosted by Bret Michaels and Natalie Morales. Jimena Navarrete, Miss Mexico, was crowned Miss Universe 2010 by outgoing titlehoder Stefanía Fernández from Venezuela.

Weeds Season 6

The sixth season will premiere on August 16, 2010. In May 2010, Elizabeth Perkins (Celia Hodes) announced that she will be leaving the series. Linda Hamilton will be joining the cast as Linda; along with her partner Fiona, Linda will help Nancy in her business. It has been confirmed that Mark-Paul Gosselaar has been cast in one episode in the upcoming season. A teaser for the new season was released on June 3, 2010, depicting Nancy disposing of the croquet mallet and evading the police. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Alanis Morissette will also be reprising their roles. Actor Richard Dreyfuss has signed on to appear in at least four episodes of the season. The season premiere was leaked on August 1, 2010.

Formula 1 2010 Hungary GP

A drive-through penalty for his team mate helped seal an unexpected, but well-deserved win for Red Bull's Mark Webber in Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel took third following his safety-car rule infringement, behind Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.

With McLaren's Lewis Hamilton failing to finish and team mate Jenson Button only eighth, Webber heads the standings going into the summer break.
